    Hope Pink
We are all grateful and relieved to announce that our beautiful office manager, Eileen Bradshaw, has just completed 6 months of grueling breast cancer treatment. She is cancer free! It was heart breaking but Eileen took on the challenge with grace and tremendous courage. We so admire the strength she and her family showed during a very difficult time.

So for Eileen and our Chris Downey and for all the people we love that have gone through this disease, Mountain Colors is now offering a Pink Ribbon Warm & Wooly Throw Kit. We are calling this color combination "Hope". We have developed a series of pinks that are soft and hopefully comforting in the pink ribbon tradition. We will be donating 20% of all proceeds from the sale of this throw to cancer research. Learn More

  • Not My Daughter
  • Spring Eclipse Colorway
Spring Eclipse is a new colorway inspired by the story in Barbara Delinsky's book, Not My Daughter, and we are pleased to offer it in all of our yarns. The main characters in the book have a hand dyed yarn business and we hope we captured the character and beauty of their colorful designs.

Barbara Delinsky is a knitter and we dyed several colorways for her to choose from. She had a wonderful time making her selection and naming the colorway. You can see photos of what she has knit on her blog.

  • Mountain Colors Back to Basics Designs
This is an ongoing series of designs that are meant to encourage the newer knitter to try sweaters and vests.  Experienced knitters will also enjoy these basic designs to showcase their special yarns or stitch patterns.  Each “set” of designs has a vest or short sleeved top, a pullover and a cardigan. Patterns are sold individually and can be found at yarn stores carrying our yarns. As of summer 2008 we have:

Back to Basics – Designs are knit flat, in pieces and assembled after completion. Styles have drop shoulders.
Back to Basics in the Round – Just like it sounds.  Designs are knit on circular needles in the round.  Drop shoulder  styling.
Back to Basics Side to Side – Designs are knit from arm to arm so that any color change creates vertical emphasis.  A fun way to used handpainted yarns!
Back to Basics  Shaped – These designs are knit so that there is subtle waistline shaping and set-in sleeves for a more fitted look.

See the Pattern Page for photos and descriptions of all 12 designs!!!
